We've streamlined the process for outlining the usage rights needed for works that are being requested. If you have multiple objects that share the same usage, you can easily copy the usage from one object to another, or to all of the objects at once.
Add usage rights to an object
Define the usage rights you need for objects in your collection or from another collection. To add usage rights, make sure your request has at least one object.
From a request:
- Tap the + Add Usage Rights button on the object card.
- Select the license start date and end date. If the license doesn't expire, select the start date and click the In perpetuity checkbox.
- Click Continue.
- Select the license type: Scholarly/Non-Profit, Exhibition, Commercial, Personal or Digital.
- Click Continue.
- Add more details about your use. Options will vary depending on what format and category you choose.
- Click Continue.
- Add the distribution location(s) for the license.
- Click Continue.
- Select the file type needed: Low-Res JPG, High-Res JPG, PNG or High-Res TIFF. Or if no file is needed, tap the ✔︎ No File Needed button.
- Click Continue.
- To add an optional note, type your note in the text box and click enter. You can edit or delete the note by clicking on the ⋮ more options.
- Click Continue.
- Usage rights have been added! You will be taken to the request or project page. To edit the usage rights on an object, tap the edit button on the object card.
Copy usage rights
If you have multiple objects in a request that require the same usage rights, save time by defining them once and copying them easily between one or more objects. Note: To copy usage rights, one object in the request must have usage rights completed.
From a request:
- Tap the Copy Usage button on the object card you would like to copy usage rights from.
- Select the objects you would like to copy usage rights to.
- Tap Copy Usage to confirm or Cancel to exit without saving.
- If Copy Usage was selected, a confirmation message appears.
- Click I'm Done to exit out of modal. You will see an updated request with usage rights copied.
